Katy Brock with Teenagers

The Mission

Military Communities Youth Ministry (MCYM), a nonprofit organization, has been serving military youth for 22 years.  MCYM is currently located on over 40 installations, with 63 staff worldwide.

MCYM partners with Youth for Christ, Young Life, and the National Federation of Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM) to bring contracted youth ministry and services to military students.

MCYM provides full time youth workers to military installations.  Their desire is quality youth ministry for EVERY military teen.

Through Youth for Christ, Katy’s parent organization, she will become MCYM staff funded by a combination of contracts with the military and personal support raising efforts as a faith missionary.

Military Youth

On average military youth move every 2 years.

61% of military families are either dual military, or both involved in the workforce.

On European installations, school, church, and homes are all located on base, which doesn't offer many options to teens.

On average, only 2% of military teens have any exposure to God on a weekly basis.

Only 7% of military installations have outreach activities available to teens.

Military teens are hungry and respond to authentic, caring adults.

There is a great need to reach these young people, to build meaningful relationships with them and to communicate the love of Jesus Christ in understandable terms.  That is the purpose of Club Beyond, the local expression of Military Communities Youth Ministry (MCYM).

Testimonials

“As a military youth moving every two years, there is not an organization that brings more value and meaning to teenagers than the collaboration that makes up MCYM’s Club Beyond.  We cannot let our military youth live in isolation.  We must lift them up and support them unconditionally.” Marlo Daniels, former military teen/current MCYM Missionary

“As a teacher of military children living overseas, I recognize the very real void that Club Beyond fills for our students.  The presence of caring adults who accept kids where they are and shows them that there really is Someone who understands is amazing!  Club Beyond is a calm, a refuge and a place where these kids really are accepted and cared for in a unique way.  Club Beyond reaches out to many of our community who do not attend church and provides that opportunity for kids to hear about God’s love and grace.” Middle School Teacher

"Parent's in the military have a difficulty because I didn't grow up the way my kids are. I grew up going to the same school for all 12 grades so it is hard to relate to my kids on that level. I haven't had to go through it. Club Beyond has been great thing for my kids to be involved in and it's been a great outlet for them. I think for my daughter, it really helped to be in small groups. Learning that there are other people out there who are willing to take a stand for Christ is one of the things that has really inspired my kids to say its okay to take that stand." MCYM Mom in Germany
